About US Sometimes you just reach a point in your life when it's time to do something you WANT to do for yourself instead of what someone else wants you to do in the corporate world... Surrogate Pet Care is co-owned by Wayne and Leslie Brown, a husband and wife team who have been in a marriage partnership for thirty years. That's tough to do in this day and age. Wayne and Leslie have been pet owners all their lives, and today have two little boy Maltese: Willie and Little Guy. Willie's been around since he was a couple of months old and is now 13 years old. Little Guy was a rescue last year when he was one year old. They can't imagine who would want to put him to sleep just because he needed hip surgery. Thankfully, he landed in a shelter, had the surgery and was ready for adoption. Wayne spent the last part of his corporate career in PetSmart management, so boy does he know what pets need. He's also been an emergency medical technician (EMT) in the past. Leslie is a registered nurse and still maintains a career in the healthcare industry. And isn't it comforting having a nurse for your pets with "special" needs. Leslie is also a volunteer at the Humane Society, spending most of that time at the West Shore shelter. In addition to their love of pets, Wayne and Leslie also believe in treating wildlife with love and respect. They've converted their plain grass backyard into a wildlife habitat and have it certified as a backyard habitat by the National Wildlife Federation.
